Visible symptoms of rabies virus


Symptoms of rabies is divided into three stages, namely:

1.       Stage I (Melancholic)

At this stage people with rabid dogs will appear to change the nature, being different from the usual days. Dogs are usually swiftly turned into a quiet, while the usual taciturn turn out to be agitated. Traits that are very clear is transformed into a timid, quiet, restless, and often alone. Being very cold and unfamiliar, even aggressive. Sometimes it seems
lazy, poor appetite, body temperature slightly elevated, happy to hide in dark places (photophobia) and shade, and begin not to obey the call of the owner. Sometimes visible in a position that sputter as if to bite what is in front of him. Sometimes acting strangely, running aimlessly, and when shocked or surprised that they would be ready to attack or bite.

2.       Stage II (excitement)

At this stage the dogs become more aggressive, fear of excessive light and also afraid of the water. Starting happy hiding under the dark or under shade. Starting happy eating or biting foreign objects in her life is never eaten, for example, take pieces of iron, pieces of wood, stone, straw. When you want to be chained it will rebel and bite the chain to be loose.

Barking turns into a raucous, sometimeslike wolves because the neck muscle disorders. The dog will begin to experience paralysis of the muscles of the neck making it difficult to swallow. If the dog’s rabies regardless it will run away, and keep going all day without a purpose, and if disturbed will attack and bite. Eventually the dog will be exhausted and staggering way, convulsions. His ears became more rigid, as well as its tail that extends down to the crotch. This is the hallmark of a dog with rabies stage II.

3.       Stage III (Paralyticum)

At this stage the dog had suffered paralysis of the muscles. Paralysis continues into the head resulting in his mouth shut hard. As a result, the tongue sticking out and will continue to drip saliva, hanging as a foam. His eyes squint and glare weight. Continued paralysis of the muscles in the body so that the staggering gait, seizures, and eventually paralysis in his legs. Dogs will collapse and coma. After 2-4 days later the dog will die due to paralysis of the respiratory muscles.
