Rabies is a very dangerous and highly malignant, the
prevention and eradication should be done intensively and as early as possible.
Do not get cheated to fall victim to human.
Prevention can be done to dogs are:
- Rabies vaccination to the vet or animal husbandry department.
- Dog health check by a veterinarian on a regular basis.
- Do not let the dog roam outdoors.
- Dogs infected with rabies suspected to be isolated and should not be mixed with a healthy dog .
Treatment
Treatment of dogs infected with rabies is not necessarily
the result. Dogs suspected of rabies or which has bitten person should be
immediately handed over to the nearest animal husbandry department to be quarantined.
If positive for rabies, it must be immediately destroyed.
The steps that must be done for the person who is bitten by
a dog suspected of rabies are as follows:
- Wash the bite wound immediately with soap and then rinse with clean water. After that wash with 70 % alcohol. Once dry, rub with the Jodium tinctures.
- Take the person to a doctor, hospital, to receive further treatment.
- Immediately report to the animal husbandry department officials about a dog that has bitten, especially about the owner and address of the owner, criteria, colors and types of dogs that bite.
The steps that must be the owner of a dog that has bitten
people are as follows:
- The dog that has bitten people to be isolated and grounded so as not to bite people anymore.
- Promptly report and checked the dog to the nearest animal husbandry department.
- Prepare a book last vaccination card if any.
- If the dog is biting it before the week immediately died suddenly, immediately leave the carcass to the farm office for an autopsy, his brain was taken in order to do the test laboratory test on the disease. This is done in order to know with certainty whether the dog died from rabies infected or not.
