Body Shape
Arowana Fish |
Arowana Fish |
Body shape is something that cannot be altered through
dietary adjustments or water conditions. Do not buy fish with a round head
shape and eyes are too big. Fish with such characteristics is probably a midget
fish. Body shape, in general, the width and length should be balanced, the size
of the fins, head, eyes in proportion to the width and length of the body.
Curved lines towards the back of the head should not be too
sharp, with a curved angle that is not too steep. Some adult fish tend to
sharply curved towards the back of the head. Observations should be made from
the above apart from the side. The body size of fish to be balanced starting
from the head to the belly fins. Of the abdomen, to the rear of the tail cone.
What is the bent part is not a good sign. From head to tail, there should be no
handicap.
Color
Arowana Fish |
The color depends on factors such as lineage ( 60 % ),
water conditions ( 20 % ), diet ( 10 % ) and sunlight ( 10 % ). Therefore, to
a certain extent, the color is something that can be improved if the above
conditions improved, not as a permanent form of body and cannot be changed. The
color also depends on the type of species you buy, whether it is chili red,
blood red or orange red, for example. If you buy fish super red (chili or blood
red) young, notice the tail fin, anal fin, dorsal and ventral fins are red.
Pectoral fin can be tinted slightly red. There should be
light green or pink sheen throughout the body. Scales should look radiant and
bright. Grouse and red lips though not a requirement. The color is an
indication of age. Colors will appear depending on the age of the fish. Forexample, a blood red color usually occurs after the age of 1-3 years, while the
red chili in age from 1.5 to 5 years.
Red tail golden arowana cross back golden colored and black
or dark brown on the dorsal fin and a third of the caudal fin. Two thirds of
the tail fin, anal, abdomen and chest should be colored orange red. Four and
five storey scales on the type of cross back (at least a few scales around the
dorsal fin has a golden color). Scales a cross back will always look brighter
and brighter than a red tail.
Scales
Arowana Fish |
All scales should be large and bright, neatly arranged in a
horizontal row. Scales that seem chaotic or zigzag structure would ruin the
beauty of the fish, no matter how perfect shape and color. However, it is not
easy to find a fish with scales perfectly, all the same size and are arranged
regularly. When the scales were not significantly different in size and shape,
then it is sufficient.
Several scales were lost is not a problem, because the
scales will grow back in a few weeks. There are two types of scales. One of
them called the other a thin frame and thick frames. The choice of these two types
of scales is entirely dependent on the personal preferences of each. Most fans
prefer fish with scales cross back thin frame color is orange instead of gold.
For super red arowana, for example, people prefer thick
scaly red chili red color due to the frame will be more dominant than gold.
Once again, this is subjective. Some people might like a cross back and scales
so thick gold frame will be more visible.
